Transparency & Warrant Canary

Statement current as of: July 24, 2026

We named the hardware Canary for a reason. This page is the other kind — a plain statement of what we've been asked to hand over, and why, by design, there's so little to give.

The canary is alive

As of the date above, Errer Labs affirms that we have:

Received zero subpoenas, warrants, or court orders for user or customer data.
Received zero national security letters or secret government requests of any kind.
Received zero gag orders preventing us from telling you about a request.
Never handed footage, motion events, or identity data to any government or third party.
Never been required to modify our hardware, firmware, or systems to facilitate surveillance, and never installed a backdoor.

If this statement is ever removed, altered, or stops being updated, treat it as a signal that one or more of the above may no longer be true — that is the purpose of a warrant canary. We intend to refresh this statement periodically.

Why this is more than a promise. Most warrant canaries protect a pile of data a company is holding on your behalf. Ours mostly protects an empty room. The devices are built so that the data a government would want isn't collected in the first place — so even a lawful, un-fightable order lands on nothing to produce.

What we could be compelled to hand over

The honest answer is "very little," and here's the whole inventory. The architecture — not our good intentions — is what makes most of these rows empty. See How It Works and what we believe for the design behind it.

Video feed from your camera	No	Footage stays on your hardware and is sealed so no single party — including us — can open it alone.
Face-recognition / identity records	No	The capability was never written. The device emits motion events, not identities.
Cross-camera tracking of a person	No	There is no code path that links a person across devices or locations.
Real-time access to a live device	No	No cloud account, no remote pipe for us to tap. Devices run on your network.
Website accounts / login history	No	The site has no user accounts and stores no per-visitor session data (see Privacy).
Store order details (name, address, email)	Limited	We keep only what's needed to ship an order. Card data goes to Stripe and never to us.

If we ever do receive a request

Should a lawful request ever arrive, our commitments are simple:

Produce only what exists. We can't hand over data we don't collect, and we won't build new collection to satisfy a request.
Narrow it. We will require valid legal process, and push back on requests that are overbroad or improper.
Tell you. Where we're legally allowed, we will notify affected people and update the statement above, so this canary reflects reality.

We'll update these numbers as part of keeping the canary current. Zero is not a marketing number here — it's a consequence of collecting almost nothing in the first place.
