First, honesty about the category. SecuraCV is not a Ring replacement and not a Frigate alternative. It's a witness: it rides alongside your local NVR, adds a privacy boundary enforced in code, and keeps a signed, hash-chained record that is tamper-evident: any edit — by anyone, including you — breaks verification. If you want cloud apps and facial recognition, the products below do that; we deliberately never will.

Video quality is whatever your RTSP cameras and Frigate deliver — typically better than cloud-cam compression. Canary Vision runs person detection on the sensor's own NPU; no pixels leave the device.

vs Frigate: keep Frigate. We ride alongside it for +$0 and +5 minutes, and add proof.
vs local NVRs: local is necessary, not sufficient — local footage can still be edited without a trace. Ours comes with a tamper-evident chain — edit it and verification fails.

Ring's business model is retaining and analyzing footage. Ours is architecturally incapable of it — the privacy rules are invariants in code, not promises in a policy.

Wi-Fi joins by scanning a QR code off a display (or your phone's share-Wi-Fi code); your credentials never touch us. Released devices are sold in the store, built to order in small weekly batches; in-development devices get a waitlist, not a buy button.
