Terms of Sale

Last updated: July 24, 2026

The short version: pay securely through Stripe, we only ever see your shipping address and email, US flat-rate shipping is shown at checkout, unopened kits can come back within 30 days, and anything dead on arrival is replaced no questions asked. When something's wrong, our policy is fix, not return — we ship the smallest thing that makes it right and you keep the rest.

These Terms of Sale govern purchases of physical hardware kits and parts (each an "order") from the SecuraCV store, operated by Errer Labs ("we", "us"). By placing an order you agree to these terms. They cover the purchase of goods; your use of the website and software is governed separately by our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Products & open-source nature

Kits are convenience packages of otherwise open hardware. Every enclosure model (STL/OpenSCAD), bill of materials, and the firmware are released under the Apache License 2.0. You are buying assembled, tested convenience — never exclusive access. You can always build the same device yourself from the published sources. We only sell devices whose firmware has been released; products still in development are marked as waitlist and are not for sale.

2. Pricing

Prices are listed in US dollars and shown at checkout. Shipping is charged as a flat US rate displayed before you pay. Prices, kit contents, and availability can change at any time before an order is placed; the price shown at checkout is the price that applies to your order.

3. Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never sent to or stored by us. We receive only your name, shipping address, and email — used solely to fulfill and communicate about your order. See the Privacy Policy for how that information is handled.

4. Small-batch fulfillment & backorders

This is a workshop, not a warehouse. Kits are built and tested in small weekly batches, so a few things follow from that:

5. Shipping & delivery

We currently ship within the United States (international shipping is planned but not yet available). Orders ship via USPS with tracking. Postage is a flat rate set from real box-and-weight data, not a guess — see the open shipping & fulfillment guide for exactly how it's calculated. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees; once a parcel is handed to USPS, transit time is in their hands.

Lost or damaged in transit? If a parcel is crushed or lost in the mail, we ship a full replacement and file the USPS claim ourselves — you don't chase the carrier.

6. Returns

7. Warranty — fix, not return

Hardware that arrives faulty, incomplete, or wrong is our problem to solve, and we solve it by fixing it, not asking for it back. Return postage usually costs more than the part and you're already inconvenienced — so we ship the smallest thing that actually makes it right, and you keep or recycle the original. Every case has a defined answer before it happens:

What went wrongWhat we doSend the original back?
A printed part came out warped or wrongReship just the parts packNo
Something was missing from the boxReship the missing partNo
A board is dead on arrivalReship a replacement board — no questionsNo
We built or flashed it wrongReship a corrected full unitNo — keep or recycle it
We shipped the wrong itemReship the correct itemNo
Crushed or lost in the mailFull replacement, and we file the USPS claimNo

This covers manufacturing and shipping faults. It does not cover damage from misuse, modification, accident, or normal wear — though because everything is open-source and repairable, replacement parts and printed enclosures are available through the store and vendors. To start a warranty claim, email us with your order email and a photo or description of the problem.

8. Statutory rights

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law. Where local law grants you a stronger remedy than the ones above, that law controls.

9. Limitation of liability

SecuraCV kits are prototype, open-source hardware provided for makers and enthusiasts. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. These devices are not certified life-safety equipment and should not be relied upon as the sole safeguard for property or persons.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Sale from time to time. The version in effect when you place your order is the one that governs it. Material changes are posted on this page with a new revision date.
